Should Mr B apply for the X-Factor?

In Literacy we have been working on writing balanced arguments. Here is Kirby's argument about whether Mr Broafield should apply for the X-Factor.

Should Mr Broadfield apply for X Factor?

Mr Broadfield, a class teacher in St Mary’s Church of England Primary School believes he has the talent to appear on X Factor and is scheduled to apply. Do you think the adventurous assistant head should try?

Many people believe Mr Broadfield is just lacking in the talent to singing on X Factor. His awful singing may bring shame to the proud legacy of St Mary’s which has won numerous honours, prizes and award for its performances. It is unlikely Mr Broadfield will be able to escape Simon Cowell’s cruel glare.

It is likely Mr Broadfield will be laughed of stage. This will possibly make him lose so much confidence that he will quit his role as class teacher. This would be a major loss to St Mary’s. They would lose one of their best  teachers and many would find it hard to imagine a St Mary’s without Mr Broadfield.

Of course there is the chance that Mr Broadfield could get in. With his awful singing he could make the judges laugh so much that they let him enter. (Only if Simon Cowell is in a good mood though) In fact, if he were inspiring enough more children might come to St Mary’s.

Even though Mr B might fail Mrs Packer will still be proud of him. She always says “Follow your dreams” Why not Mr B? Despite losing he will still be a popular teacher!

Stained Glass Windows

Children in 5/6B have been creating stained glass windows with a religious theme. Oyinde and Malachi have used GIMP to produce their windows. Oyinde's window is showing the Rastafarian symbol, the Lion of Judah and Malachi has created an abstarct combination of a Rangoli pattern and the Islamic symbol.
