Fantastic Facts Poems

Children in 5B have been writing Fantastic Facts Poems. Here are some examples.

Fantastic Facts Poem

In Japan
A man
Always baths in a frying pan

In Spain
People feel pain
So they jump out of a plane

In Pakistan
Everyone has a fan
But no-one knows how to drive a caravan

In Wales
People eat snails
The rugby team always fails

In France
No-one wears underpants
And they love to dance

In Greece
There are no police
So they never live in peace

In Paraguay
No-one ever tells a lie
They always eat pie

In Cameroon
They have no moon
Their sun rises at noon

By Maiya

______________

In Wales,
There are many snails
That have furry tails

In Pakistan
People always sleep in their van
And boys have to have a bath in a frying pan

In Spain
There’s always rain
To get there people have to jump from a plane

In Japan,
There is a man
That has a fan

In Greece,
People never say peace
that’s why there are not many police

In France
People dance
Wearing just pants

In Cameroon,
They don’t have a moon
And birds sing out of tune

100 Word Challenge - Shenaz

Hi I’m Shenaz the smiley elephant. I love the cool refreshing water hitting my skin. I can feel a cool breeze gently brush across my face as the crystal clear water rushes down my back. The sun beating heavily as the clear fresh water of the waterfall drops down on me. All the other baby elephants watch me jealously as I’m here in the cool water of the waterfall. As I look up into the sky I see the clouds. Their different shapes and sizes and make different shades as the sun hides behind them. I love the wonderful water.

100 Word Challenge - Idrees

The crystal water was so clear you could see the bottom of the deep blue sea. The bright sun was betting on my head as I was looking at the wonderful deep blue sea. As the sun was beating on my head the outstanding deep blue sea was dragging me into the ocean. The dolphins were splashing about. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It felt like I was in heaven. Suddenly I heard a bang!

Mallica 100 Word Challenge

The crystal water was so clear you could see the bottom of the shallow blue sea. I laid my head on the golden sand whilst the sun beating on me. I was getting very hot so I threw myself into the blue water. I was floating on the water when suddenly I felt myself drifting away from the golden sand. I needed help but on one was there. I had to stay calm in steed of panicking because then I would have drowned. I could not stop. I was drifting away when I saw a boat. I was so happy. I started to call for help but the boat did not see me. Was it was too late?

100 Word Challenge - Tawana

The crystal water was so clear you could see the golden sand lying beneath. Peacefully, I floated along the glittering blue ocean as I watched the exotic fish dart within the warm rippling sea. Suddenly and dramatically I lost control.  I started to drown as my foot was entwined within the slimy, forest like seaweed which was being pulled by a  fierce ,man eating shark. I knew this was the end. I couldn't out muscle the shark. As I was dragged along my lungs were decreasing in size. My heart was beating faster. I had to get away. But how?  This creature was more than double my size. I screamed for help. Were these my last words...?

100 Word Challenge - Amari

The crystal water was so clear you could see the bottom of the wonderful deep blue sea. As the day went by I looked up into the daylight there were no clouds, it was just pure blue sky. The beaming sun was beating all over but as I went further it got cooler and cooler. I had nearly reached my destination as the sun was going down into the sky. It was so beautiful I could not believe my own eyes. I felt extremely calm and relaxed. It was time to go home but then I realised something was not right!

100 Word Challenge - Dequanne

The crystal water was so clear you could see the bottom of the amazing wonderful deep blue sea and the bright colours of the different various fish. The bright sun was beating on my head as I was looking at the sea. As the sun was beating on my head the outstanding deep blue sea made me want to go in to the water. As I came out of the water the wind was blowing on me. I could hear gentle waves breaking onto the soft golden yellow sand. I went to get changed in the changing room. Suddenly I realised my phone was gone!

100 Word Challenge - Hannah

The crystal water was so clear you could see the bottom of the cool crystal sea. As I was staring at the crystal sea on a beautiful cruise going to India I could hear the waves whooshing and crashing. As the ship approached India I could smell the outstanding food that dragged me close. I wanted to eat. I just wish my parents were here to see all of this that I have explored. I never knew the crystal sea would be like this. While I was swimming with the dolphins suddenly vicious sharks started to surround me. I tried to call help but no one could hear me. How would I survive?

100 Word Challenge - Ethan

The crystal water   was   so   clear you could see the bottom of the deep blue sea.  As I gazed from my small wooden boat I   could see the amazing coral reef and all the exciting living organisms. I   was   astonished when I saw how beautiful and marvellous it was. The depth and    the   colour was amazing, the most wonderful thing I’ve ever seen.  I wish my parents could see this.  I never thought the sea could be such a beautiful place. Everything   seemed calm and peaceful. This was by far the best day   of   my life.  I   could enjoy my time on my own. Then BANG!

100 Word Challenge - Wiktoria

The crystal water was so clear I could see the bottom of the shinning ocean. The beautiful sight just made me want to jump in.  As I stood on the deck of my magnificent boat I could see all those colourful stones under the ocean. I had never seen a more beautiful sight than this. I was walking on sand staring at the ocean. When I gazed at the crystal clear water I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was just a perfect view. I could see all the dolphins splashing about, it made me feel like I was in heaven. The bright golden sun was burning my eyes. It was just unbelievable. Then I heard a BANG.

Spreadsheets!

In Maths we have been working on calculations. Today children in 5B were introduced to spreadsheets. They used a pre-made spreadsheet to calculate the cost of items on a shopping list. Reece took this a step further and independently created a spreadsheet, with working calculations, for his computer game shop. Here is some of his work.

RE display

Every class in the school has asked to contribute some art work to a religious display. The theme for the display is Crosses. Here is Mariama's work using GIMP and Tagxedo.

More Green Screen

Here is some more of the press conference.

Green Screen

As part of our work on "The Ghost of Thomas Kempe" children in 5B have been planning and writing News Reports. We conducted a "press conference" with some of the main characters from the story in order to gain information to include in the news reports. The children filmed the press conference in front of a green screen so that a studio background could be added later. Here is some footage from the press conference.

The Ghost of Thomas Kempe

In Literacy we have been looking at extracts from a book call The Ghost of Thomas Kempe. We have also been looknig at ways to improve our sentences. We have discussed using adjectives to add detail and varying the sentence structure to add information to a sentence and engage the reader. Use the WallWisher booard to post sentences using conjucntions, connectives, powerful verbs and precise adjectives based on the extracts we have read.

Science questions!

In Science we have been learning about Forces. During the lessons children have had lots of interesting questions. Use the Wallwisher board to ask any questions you have and we will try to find answers as a class.
